Protecting vulnerable children

COVID 19 pandemic has caused entire nation of India to go under complete lock down (everything from businesses, offices & schools are shut for the past 1 year) which literally prohibits anyone to go outside their homes unless its for buying food. It is estimated that 80% population of India is engaged in non - formal work or daily wage earners who earn between $1 - $3 per day who are now stranded or left unemployed due to pandemic crisis and unemployment. This pandemic has directly affected the children who will be lost due to the shutdowns of the education system

Poverty and illiteracy are closely linked - and with the second largest population in the world, India is home to one-third of all world poverty. While 22% of Indians fall below the poverty line, it has been estimated that more than half of the nation’s population lacks even basic literacy skills.

India: is home to 46.6 million stunted children, a third of world's total as per Global Nutrition Report 2018. Nearly half of all under-5 child mortality in India is attributable to undernutrition. Any country cannot aim to attain economic and social development goals without addressing the issue of malnutrition.

At present we are serving 1000 children in India and Nepal. The purpose of Genesis of Hope (GOH) projects is to sponsor children in developing communities across India & Nepal so that they can  have access to education, computer literate, hygiene, nutrition and more. Along with these basic needs, GOH also provides the most important need anyone can have, knowledge of Jesus Christ and His Gospel.
